All About Us
It started with one anxious dog and a lot of treats.
Louie came to us all the way from South Korea. We didn't know much about his past, but we were ready to give him anything he needed. And right away, he acted as if he was always part of the pack, a joy and a cutie in the comfort of our home. What we quickly discovered was that our new little guy was a bundle of anxiety — nervous around loud sounds, uncomfortable around bigger dogs, and in need of a whole lot of patience and positive reinforcement.
And that meant treats. A lot of them. The problem? Most of what we found on shelves was full of fillers, artificial colors, and ingredients we couldn't pronounce — let alone feel good about giving him every single day. When Louie started gaining weight from all the training rewards, we stopped buying and started making.
We researched. We tested. We dehydrated a lot of raw proteins in a Kirkland kitchen. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, Louie's Chewies was born — small-batch, handmade natural dog treats made right here in Seattle, Washington.
What we believe
We believe treats are more than a reward. They're how you build trust with a pet who's scared. They're the thing you reach for when you want to say good dog or thank you without words. They're a bridge — between training and bonding, between anxiety and calm, between the life your pet has and the one you're building together.
That's why every treat we make is:
- Human-grade — sourced fresh, the same standard we'd hold food for ourselves
- Minimally processed — always to preserve nutrition, never cooked into nothingness
