About the Treats

Tell me about your treats!
All Louie's Chewies treats are registered with Washington State Department of Agriculture. We understand every dog is different - we have even met dogs who can only eat vegan treats! Transparency is our priority and we have 3rd party lab tested each product so we can proudly showcase its nutritional benefits and answer any questions you might have.

Why do the treats look different?
Please be aware we use fresh ingredients so there will be natural variance in colors, shapes, and textures.

How do you add colors to your treats?
We refuse to use artificial colors, made of unknown chemicals. We only use natural powders to our treats: beetroot, spirulina, sweetpea flower, pumpkin, purple potato (ube), and carob.

How long can these treats last?
Since we do not use artificial preservatives and only use natural ingredients, we do not have solid "best by" dates. Once the package is opened, we recommend treats to be consumed within 1 month. However, if stored properly or frozen, shelf life can extend to 4 months. Please use your best judgement when feeding treats to your pets.

How do I store these treats?
All our packaged treats have been dehydrated at a low temperature to extend the shelf life and can be stored in a dark, cool place in air-tight containers. To store dehydrated meat products for a longer length of time, you also have the option of freezing it. Note that you can serve any of our treats frozen or at room temperature - totally up to you or your pet's preference!

 

Shipping & Delivery

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
We generally ship within 3-4 days and it takes another 2-5 days for USPS/UPS shipping. We often craft orders as they come in.

I live in the Seattle area! Where can I pick my order up?
Local Pick Up: We offer free pick up in Kirkland's Village at Totem Lake Plaza. Just select the Pickup in Store option at checkout and it will give you a guesstimate of the pickup date/time. We will then reach out to confirm the date/time.

Event Pick Up: If you plan to attend any of the markets we'll be attending, you can also place the order for pickup and then email us at orders@louieschewies.com with your name and order #. After mutual confirmation, we will prepare your order so you can pick it up at the event.
